Challenge # 12 ... Distressed!! Also meet our new Guest Designer!

Hi Pinkies

Here we are in this chilly weather with a new challenge for you...  as it says in the title.... we would like to see your cards using Distressing.  This can be any way of distressing...  either using Distress Inks to colour.... or distressing around the edge with inks...  or sanding your card......  or giving a distressed look to your card by the use of a distressing tool..  There are probably lots more ways you can experiment with... we love to see the fabulous projects you come up with!

Here's what we've come up with to inspire... all in different pinks...  hope you like!  If you click on the names above the cards, it will take you straight to our blogs where you can find details of what we've used.

Now we'd like to welcome on board and show a card from Amelia (Stamped for the Occasion) who is our new Guest Designer for the next two challenges!  We think you'll agree... Amelia's creations are stunning...

Here is a little bit about Amelia who is from Pretoria, South Africa:

I am so delighted to be guest designer for In the Pink Challenge blog – it is such an honour. I am a librarian at a large residential university in South Africa but when I am at home I keep myself busy with card making – I love creating, and stamping is my passion. I have been stamping for about 10 years now but started my own blog and entered challenges since February 2010. I have a variety of stamps and I am also passionate about creating with die cuts and vintage scraps.  My favourite colouring technique is watercolour pencils and I love to add detail to my cards especially flowers and lace. My style has developed over time seeing all the beautiful cards from so many talented card makers and I would describe my style as a mixture of shabby, vintage and cute elements. My biggest dream is to turn my love for crafting into my job!  Thank you Christine and Sylvia for asking me to join you as an In the Pink guest designer.

Hope we've given you some inspiration to get distressing...  There are lots of YouTube tutorials online too if you want to learn more about it.  Remember, the challenge runs for two weeks, so you have plenty of time to get your entries to us.

Thank you all once again for sharing your pink passion with us here at Pinkie Palace..  it's always wonderful to look at your entries...  so many different styles, so many different shades of pink.... and so many ways of using our theme!

Big pinkie hugs to all our fab followers..

Hi Pinkies... and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  Here's to a happy, healthy (and a little pink) 2013!

Now, once again it was such a difficult job to choose our Perfect Pinkies for our Pink and Pearlie challenge... we had so many fabulous entries  from our lovely followers (thank you all)- and as this challenge was open for a month... it gave us time to think..... and change our minds..... and think again.... and change our minds again......  etc, etc,  but at long last we whittled our list down to our very, VERY favourites.... though we would say that you're ALL our favourites!!  (Hmmmm do I sound like Brucie there??)  But we HAVE decided to choose SIX Perfect Pinkies this time as a one off special!  (nothing to do with Sylvia and I not owning a decision-making brain-cell between us!! hehe)

Without further ado... our Perfect Pinkies are:

Challenge #10 - Pink and Pearlie!

Hi Pinkies

Here at Pinkie Palace we have a fabulous new challenge for you today... this time our theme is 'Pink and Pearlie' - and we'd love to see - like the title says - entries using lots of pinks and pearls!!  Don't forget, your entry doesn't have to be a card... it can be anything.

Here's what we've come up with if you need any inspiration:

And now we'd thrilled to introduce our fabulous new Guest Designer for the next two challenges.. it's Nic... perhaps better known as Coops from Coops' Cluttered Corner - who we're delighted to say has agreed to join us as GDT.  We're sure you'll agree, her work is absolutely stunning so we're really lucky to have her on board!

"Hi, I am Nic or better known in blogland as Coops.  I am a married mum of 1 and I have been crafting about 7 years now. I first started card making when I had been made redundant from my then job and needed something to occupy my mind. I was soon hooked and I still love it as much now as i did then. I love to craft at night mainly as it helps me to wind down and I love to sit and colour an image to life. I find the  whole process of putting a card together really relaxing.

I would like to thank Christine and Sylvia for asking me to join them for a couple of challenges, it is a real honour."

So Pinkies... let's see you get our your pink pens and card... and your pearls... we're looking forward to lots of gorgeous entries.  This challenge is open for four weeks until 9 January... so we can have a little rest over Christmas..

And talking of Christmas.... Sylvia and I would like to wish all our followers and entrants a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.... and to THANK YOU ALL for taking part and showing your support for our new challenge blog...  we've really enjoyed creating a special place for lovers of the colour pink!!

Big Hugs
Christine and Sylvia xx

Don't forget to use lots of pink and pearls on your entry..
