Challenge #14 - Pink and BLING

Hi Pinkies..

Today's challenge at In The Pink is all about the BLING!!  Lots and lots of the shiney, sparkly stuff...  diamantes, glitter.... anything you like, as long as it glistens!  In fact, here is the definition of 'bling' as found in the Urban Dictionary:

Bling (or bling-bling) is a slang term popularized in hip hop culture, referring to flashy, ostentatious or elaborate jewellery and ornamented accessories that are carried, worn or installed..

That gives you plenty of scope, doesn't it??  If you need any further inspiration...  here are what we've come up with... (for more details click on the link above the cards)

And now... I'd like to introduce Wendy (maybe known better as Papersniffer) , who is the new Guest Designer at In The Pink for the next two challenges.  Wendy's entries have been stunning, and her 'bling' card is no exception:

Here's a few words from Wendy..

My name is Wendy and I'm a married stay at home mum of one living in Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland.  I've been crafting in some form or another all of my life but over the years I've become addicted to papercraft.  I'm always on the look out for something new to try, but it's stamping and using my Promarkers that I come back to time and time again, I guess I'm just a big kid who still loves to colour in!

And now onto some sad  news...  I'm sorry to have to announce that Sylvia has decided to step down from her position at In The Pink..  and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank her for all her fabulous contributions in getting In The Pink up and running...  her support during it's initial stages, and her wonderful DT cards!   I'd also like to extend to her my good wishes for the future.

So.... for the time being, it'll just be me and the Guest Designers!!  Hope you can 'bear with'!  But I'm sure with all your fabulous creations/entries, there'll be no shortage of pink in the area...  I was so impressed by the amount of fabulous entries there were for the Valentines Challenge..

Now .... itching to get out the 'bling'??  This challenge gives you full permission to be as over the top and put as much sparkle on as you like!!  I can't wait to see your fabulous entries..

Big hugs and Happy Pink Crafting..

Christine x

Pink Valentines - Challenge #13

Hi Pinkies..

Well.......  we think we may have made things difficult for you with our 'Distressed' challenge....  as it didn't seem to be as popular as normal...  so to bring you all back out to play in Pinkieland, we have a new challenge for you...  and because we're so near the most romantic day of the year... we thought we'd use that as our challenge theme....  We'd like to see your Pink Valentines or Romantic  cards...  which we hope gives lots of scope.

This is what we've come up with .... (click on the names to get further details)

We'd like to thank Amelia so much for being our Guest Designer for the last two challenges....  we think you'll agree, her cards have been absolutely stunning!

By the way pinkies... we took on board the feedback we received when we mentioned the possibility of choosing our winners through Random.Org.... seems like you like us to pick personally...  so we'll carry on doing that as we agree that it's nice when you win a challenge to know your creation has been actually chosen to be a winner by people rather than a machine!!

Now, on the subject of feedback.... have you any thoughts/suggestions as to future challenge themes or other things you'd like to see on In The Pink?  We now have nearly 270 followers...  but for some reason, we don't get all our followers entering...  come on Pinkies.... let us know what you want to see and we'll try our best to please!

OK all.... dig out the hearts and flowers... get your romantic ideas flowing.... and let us see what you come up with....  oooh and don't forget the pink!!

Big hugs
Christine and Sylvia xx

Challenge # 12 ... Distressed!! Also meet our new Guest Designer!

Hi Pinkies

Here we are in this chilly weather with a new challenge for you...  as it says in the title.... we would like to see your cards using Distressing.  This can be any way of distressing...  either using Distress Inks to colour.... or distressing around the edge with inks...  or sanding your card......  or giving a distressed look to your card by the use of a distressing tool..  There are probably lots more ways you can experiment with... we love to see the fabulous projects you come up with!

Here's what we've come up with to inspire... all in different pinks...  hope you like!  If you click on the names above the cards, it will take you straight to our blogs where you can find details of what we've used.

Now we'd like to welcome on board and show a card from Amelia (Stamped for the Occasion) who is our new Guest Designer for the next two challenges!  We think you'll agree... Amelia's creations are stunning...

Here is a little bit about Amelia who is from Pretoria, South Africa:

I am so delighted to be guest designer for In the Pink Challenge blog – it is such an honour. I am a librarian at a large residential university in South Africa but when I am at home I keep myself busy with card making – I love creating, and stamping is my passion. I have been stamping for about 10 years now but started my own blog and entered challenges since February 2010. I have a variety of stamps and I am also passionate about creating with die cuts and vintage scraps.  My favourite colouring technique is watercolour pencils and I love to add detail to my cards especially flowers and lace. My style has developed over time seeing all the beautiful cards from so many talented card makers and I would describe my style as a mixture of shabby, vintage and cute elements. My biggest dream is to turn my love for crafting into my job!  Thank you Christine and Sylvia for asking me to join you as an In the Pink guest designer.

Hope we've given you some inspiration to get distressing...  There are lots of YouTube tutorials online too if you want to learn more about it.  Remember, the challenge runs for two weeks, so you have plenty of time to get your entries to us.

Thank you all once again for sharing your pink passion with us here at Pinkie Palace..  it's always wonderful to look at your entries...  so many different styles, so many different shades of pink.... and so many ways of using our theme!

Big pinkie hugs to all our fab followers..
Christine and Sylvia xx

Hi Pinkie People

We're here with our winners from our Challenge #11 - Luscious Lace.  And wowwwww we had some wonderful entries..  I think we may have to eventually start using the Random Number thingie to choose... as Sylvia and I really struggle to pick our Perfect Pinkies...  we start with long lists and have to whittle them down to just four...  And it's such a difficult task!  In our eyes, you are ALL winners!

Here's our choice for this time...

Here is your Perfect Pinkie badge girls....  for you to display proudly on your sidebar.  Thank you again to all our wonderful entrants  .... it's lovely to know that our love of pink is shared so far and wide... we're getting worldwide entries now... how brilliant is that?

Challenge #11 - Luscious Lace

Hi Pinkies!

Here we are with another fab pink challenge.... this time it's 'LUSCIOUS LACE' and we would like you to use some gorgeous LACE on your pink project.  Don't forget, it doesn't have to be a card...  we had some stunning projects entered in our last challenge that weren't cards...  which we love to see!  As long as whatever you make uses PINK and LACE... it's fine by us!

Here's what we've come up if you happen to need any inspiration...

We'd like to say a massive thank you to the lovely Nic (AKA Coops).... for being with us for a short time as our GDT.... we think you'll agree, her In The Pink designs have been absolutely stunning!

So Pinkies....  dig out your pink pens, your pink papers.... and your lovely lace and let's see what you come up with... and for those that haven't seen our Perfect Pinkies post....  Here's to a Happy, Healthy, (Pink) 2013!!

Big hugs
Christine and Sylvia xx
